|Jeff Zabin Founder and CEO
A globally-recognized marketing and market research executive, business author and authority on B2B content marketing, Jeff Zabin oversees Starfleet Media’s strategic direction and growth. He also serves as research director at Starfleet Research, which is the IT market research arm of Starfleet Media, as well as "master twirler" at Qwirly Enterprises, the maker of Qwirly™. Previously, he was CEO and research director at Gleanster, an IT market research and marketing services provider, and VP and research fellow at Aberdeen Group, an IT market research firm that is part of Harte-Hanks, a $200M marketing services company. Zabin has authored two bestselling business books (e.g., Precision Marketing (Wiley)) about data-driven marketing improvement as well as hundreds of influential trade magazine articles and benchmark reports. He has lectured at top MBA programs and keynoted dozens of industry conferences. He is frequently quoted in publications like Forbes, Advertising Age and Brandweek. Prior to Aberdeen Group, he headed up product marketing and thought leadership at Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO) and served as VP, Marketing at Seurat Company, which was acquired by FICO in 2003. He began his career in book publishing, at Houghton Mifflin, and later served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Bolivia. He has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the Taproot Foundation, and recently launched a nonprofit related to the health, environmental and animal welfare benefits of plant-based living. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
|Paulina Hubli COO and Vice President, Sales
Paulina Hubli manages day-to-day operations at Starfleet Media, including financial reporting and supervising the team of account and project managers. She is a seasoned executive with a long track record of success in marketing services as well as in managing business operations and launching new products and companies -- including, most recently, Qwirly Enterprises, the maker of Qwirly™ merchandise. Her experience includes serving as director of marketing at Polygram Records and account executive at BBDO, where her clients included Pepsi, M&M Mars, Gillette and P&G. She was subsequently recruited by Viacom, where she spearheaded the launch of MTV in Russia. Returning to the agency world, at Euro RSCG Tatham Chicago, Hubli managed client accounts that included Hewitt Financial and Walgreens. Her other entrepreneurial ventures include launching a leading online hotel booking company, which she sold in 2004 to Hotels.com, and a document processing company in a niche market that over a 12-year period has emerged as the leading player in its space. Clients include the world's largest passport and visa agencies, including CIBT, G3, TDS and Travisa. She earned a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Managment (Arizona State University).
|Aaron Walsh Director, Marketing and Business Development
Aaron Walsh heads up a number of Starfleet Media’s digital marketing and business development activities. With a long track record of success in email marketing, paid and organic search, website optimization, retargeting, social media and mobile marketing, he has executed sales and marketing strategies as well as lead generation programs for multiple companies over the past 12 years. Most recently, he served as manager of digital marketing for Camping World and Good Sam, responsible for driving highly qualified leads and reservations for RV parks, campgrounds and other travel and tourism businesses. Previously, he led the digital and experiential marketing programs for EZLinks Golf and TeeOff.com and worked on the business development team at Leapfrog Online, a leading digital marketing company that specializes in online customer acquisition programs, including media tracking and planning. Walsh also played key roles that led to acquisitions of two technology startup companies (SightSpeed and ViewCentral). He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
|Eileen Donohue Director of Client Satisfaction
Eileen Donohue is responsible for tracking and distributing qualified leads generated from scrubbed downloads of Smart Decision Guides™ and for driving and maintaining exceptional client service. She also oversees various HR functions. She previously held senior positions in the corporate recruiting function at KPMG, the audit, tax and advisory services firm which operates from 87 offices with more than 23,000 employees. Responsibilities at KPMG included full life cycle recruitment of multidisciplinary finance/accounting candidates, including sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates and offer negotiation. Earlier in her career, she worked in the customer service departments at several large companies in the insurance and financial services industries. She earned a BA from Southern Illinois University.
|Elan Shohet Creative Director
Elan Shohet oversees graphic design and website development, including custom landing pages and micro-websites dedicated to niche market topics, as well as the creative design for Smart Decision Guides™, benchmark reports and commissioned eBooks. He has received widespread recognition for his graphic design and web development work. He has worked as an independent contractor for a wide range of organizations, including several non-profits, and also previously served as a lead creative resource on client projects for Gleanster Research. His graphic design work on numerous digital content assets, including infographics, has benefited dozens of B2B companies, including some of the world’s largest enterprise software companies. He has designed across multiple types of media and has worked with leading graphic design and digital marketing agencies, including, most recently, Neiger Design & Strategic Marketing, based in Evanston, Illinois.
|Gene Razdowsky IT Director
Gene Razdowsky provides IT support for Starfleet Media's technology infrastructure, including third-party marketing and campaign management tools integration and development of our custom-built leads tracking and validation platform. He has more than 15 years of experience in software development and project management for both small companies and large corporations. Most recently, he worked as an application development manager at CNA Financial, a $10 billion commercial property and casualty insurance company, where he led the development of requirements, data models, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. His responsibilities included developing and managing IT resources for some of the company's highest profile projects. A graduate of the University of Illinois, he was awarded a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate from the Project Management Institute, a Certificate of Achievement in Management Enhancement Skills from the American Management Association and multiple programming and other technical certifications.
|Alisha Levin Director of Operations
Alisha Levin manages operations for leads scrubbing and distribution and also supports various business development and financial processes at Starfleet Media. Her responsibilities include developing, distributing and tracking marketing campaigns for Smart Decision Guides™, providing market analysis, collaborating with the IT department to create automation and business process improvements, coordinating with the content development and production team, and preparing financial reports for the COO. Her background includes marketing and operations management positions at a number of companies in the financial services industry, including Smith Barney (now part of Morgan Stanley) and JT Levin and Associates, a Chicago-based accounting firm. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign.
|Daniel Hyam Director of Demand Generation
Daniel Hyam is a Google AdWords-certified search engine marketing expert who specializes in content asset landing page optimization and other inbound marketing and demand generation tactics. He previously worked as an account manager for Google, helping numerous clients meet their online advertising campaign goals. He has extensive experience in keyword generation, quality score optimization, bid management and paid search budget management. His responsibilities include creating and managing paid search campaigns related to Smart Decision Guides™, using analytics tools to track and measure performance, and ensuring that the required volumes of high-quality leads are generated in a cost-effective manner. He works in conjunction with our strategic partnership with a top-tier CPA bidding agency. Hyam studied business and economics at Sonoma State University and Pierce College in California.
